Housing Bureau , a bureau with administrative and financial autonomies which subordinates to Secretary for Transport and Public Works, was established on 28th July 1990. For the purpose of maintaining good operation and balancing the authority arranged for the ancillary sectors, Housing Bureau had been reformed in 1997, and at the beginning of 2006, Housing bureau has also made a second structural reform. Nowadays, the responsibility of assisting and handling management affairs of private housing is also one of the main functions in our Bureau. Until now, 173 staff are working in our Bureau.

Our main missions are: assisting and setting Macao’s housing policies; ensuring the implementation of measures, plans and works related to social housing; encouraging the study of Macao housing in order to evaluate housing necessities and to seek for a way to satisfy these necessities; providing technical support and assistance for the management of the common parts; supervising, controlling and demolishing unauthorized building works.
